|Ogre - Keipene
||[Sep. 9th, 2007|11:45 pm]
In the programm "search the new territories" we made a bus hook through Ogre district (Ogre is a town 37 km from Riga), visiting villages Keipene and Suntazi - both about thousand of people, situated not totally in the asshole and not at great roads (railroad Riga - Ergli working with 1 train at day, way in the same direction is not asphalted). Nothing noticeable and therefore they can be an example of average Latvian village. The start - in Ogre.
Instead of old building of bus station - a wall. Bus station at time of building was situated in place at railway station.
New building of DnB Nord bank, at the same place.
In the railway station.
This hut with description in font "Comic Sans" is working as a temporarily bus station. Even in Moscow they are better.
People standing for a town bus.
The new pavement with bycycles way (the red, with a pole at mid) is built by the EU money, as report the poster. Typically.
Soviet buildingsfar from the centre of town weren't changed for last 20 years.
My camera very likes to change straight lines to curved.
Soviet agricultural machines - 2007.
This terrifying landscape was tied with a building of road pub.
In village Ledmane.
The road Ledmane - Madliena.
At right the Culture House - a local proud at Soviet period, when the energic leader of collective farm (kolkhoz) could get much means from Riga.
Keipene, ring of bus stop. Totally - 5 buses at day to Ogre, 3 to Riga, 7 in another directions. About the village: people 600, in all Keipene pagasts (district) 1300. Size of pagasts 9*10 км, 41% - forests, 2 lakes about 1*1 km. School (173 children, 19 teachers), kindergarten (35 children), Culture House, library, "Small clube of ladies", at the pagasts 5 sections of timbercrafts, carpentery, union of milk producers, agroservice, filling-station, slaughter-house, 2 hair-dressers' 2 unions of consumers, 5 shops, cafe. The embleme of pagasts is in Cthulhu's style: In Riga about the existence of this village knows about 1 man from 10.
Probably it's the prod of village: at the back of bus stop is built the toilet. It even is cleaned sometimes, it means it is possible to breathe there.
The view to Keipene from side of toilet.
I was waiting for much worse view. Usually I see the places in Latvia in better situstion than I was waiting - as am a pessimist about the world generally and about Latvia specially.
The garbage-bin was transported from Italy. A help for poors or a joke of anybody? My version - the village chief bought in Italy so much garbage that was pressed to add for his car the trailer, which could find...
One from local "unions of consumers".
Shop (Ilze - a popular latvian name, evidently from Elyzabeth).
The railway station from a road.
Buying up of scrap metal.
At "Latvian time" (1920-1940) the line wished to build until town Madona, but the Soviet invasion stopped the works. The line remained weakly vegetated.
Flowers at entry.
I turned to the entry... WTF. No, I wasn't waiting for the working of waiting-room in station. But to see at evening on small country station the info: "The museum of cinema producer Eizenstein" isn't safe for the psychics. (Eizenstein - a Soviet producer, 1898-1948, born in Riga. Known with patriotic historical films.) To call a guide we didn't wish and after only recognized details: a cinema festival "Arsenals" was once in Keipene.
Yet one result of festival: the gray blocks are a table and benches, where the great masters of cinema would meet and to chat about the life. Left from it - a land lighthouse with mailboxes for these producers, actors etc. By the legend, letters will be delivered by the pass-flying doves.
We was going back to the village. A house by pass.
The local Roman catholics didn't find a money or a belief for setting a cross on the church (the priest leads a mass here one time at month), but to plant flowers - it is a saint duty.
Fire pond at the Village Soviet.
The Village Soviet.
Water tower on a hill - unlike the majority of those, visible from apart (and consequently it is usual more beautiful), this primitive dick successfully спрятан in park and is imperceptible outside.
And nevertheless at once it is visible, that it is village. Irrespective of all Soviet diligence to liquidate all of farm and to transform " perspective settlements " into small towns.
Shortage of workers has reached and up to these places - are necessary agricultural workers, the salary of 600 dollars in a month.
The index on a tavern. It is artificial clarified because it was absolutely imperceptible.
Probably, all remains of an old mill on a hill, instead of kitsching new building.
Though also inhabitants have driven at will twist from farms in the center, but to guzzle something it is necessary? Here also there was such delirium dog - kitchen-garden colonies around of rural settlements. Now they are slowly transformed to something more made (high-grade houses or fields), the blessing meal now and in shops is.
Someone in any way does not manage to sell a small house at highway.
And this here they, probably, drink.
Having looked round, we have gone in Suntazi. Continuation follows.
